Synapse, Agilent boost laboratory services with innovative technologies

Synapse Technologies Nigeria Limited says it is well positioned to improve analytical and laboratory community in Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy, through the provision of innovative technologies specifically designed to meet the needs of professionals in various industry vertical. Etim Amana, group managing director, Synapse technologies, who made this known at an engagement seminar in Lagos recently, said the company is capable of exceeding the expectations of customers, adding that synapse has a long standing relationship with Agilent technologies, the world’s premier measurement company and a technology leader in chemical analysis, life sciences, diagnostics, electronics and communications. The company’s 20, 600 employees serve customers in more than 100 countries. Agilent had revenues of $6.8 billion in fiscal 2013. “Agilent is the best analytical manufacturer in the world. There is a lot of awareness about safety and quality in the country at moment. We have the capability to provide technologies for laboratory services to improve the wellbeing of Nigerians,” he stated.


Amana also said that the company is focused on improving the quality of education In Nigeria specifically in the sciences. “Our universities are in dire straits as they do not have laboratory equipments for students in the sciences to learn. We can address these challenges by providing quality technologies. “The company, according to him, is involved in the implementation of large scale telecoms, analytical test and measurement and medical projects abound in the telecommunications, oil industries and government. Some of Synapse’s services and solutions, among others, includes: Turkey test and measurement, medical equipment implementation, Systems-based chemical analysis implementation, and environmental monitoring solutions. The Synapse MD said the company has recorded significant success stories with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and oil and gas companies specifically in the rate of quality control.


Speaking in the same vein, Evrim Kilicgedik, Chemical Analysis Group, Agilent Technologies UK, “We introducing new solutions for the laboratory services for our Unix system, which covers the spectroscopic, chromatography, for all kind of laboratories such as environmental, oil and gas, mining, agriculture sectors. We are showing the Nigerians our capabilities and how we can meet their requirements.” As a regulatory body, we try to determine the quality and safety of food, cosmetic, water, chemicals, etc. To do this, we need to analyze these products, we need the equipments to check for the level of quality and safety of these product. Agilent and Synapse provides NAFDAC with the required technologies to meet our mandates,” added Stella Denloye, director laboratory services, NAFDAC).
